ONE FASHION STYLE DOESN’T FIT ALL
You don’t find who you are unless you work at it, the same can be said for achieving a sense of fashion style. Getting a good sense of style begins by knowing yourself, it looks different to everybody and everyone is attracted to different kinds of style.
The thing I love about style is that its experimental, you get to be creative with your clothes and put your individual twist to it. The world of fashion is very much filled with different styles that you can play around with, which excites me!I was once asked by 303 Magazine to describe my style in three words. It felt like an easy question but to be honest it took me a few minutes because of my experimental nature. I finally summed up my multiple styles as eclectic, vintage and bold African style. I felt that these were styles that I tend to lean into as one of these elements usually ends up in my looks.
I’ve learned that I have a unique sense of style with multiple versions of myself that I express in different ways; not wanting to be pinned to one label. As we evolve so does our fashion style, we become more daring or more creative and we long for change. Fashion styles that we choose to portray are all about expressing ourselves and each day they could be different.
When I wake up in the morning I ask myself what feeling do I have today? For example; depending on my mood or what my plans are for the day, I may want an easy fashion style that looks put together. This would be my casual chic style look for the day ahead...Choosing and playing around with different fashion styles allows you to constantly re-invent yourself and became whoever you want to be. Different styles such as vintage, minimal, athleisure, man inspired are some of the many styles out there you can play around with to stand out from the crowd and show off your fashion personality.
I feel that, in the age we live in, it’s becoming a lot easier for people to express the truest version of their fashion personalities. Embrace who you are, dress how you want and wear what makes you feel good. In the end you need to be yourself, however that fashion style may look. Remember #BeBoldBeBraveBeDifferent
